Marks and Symbols
A symbol is a mark that features an image with no text. A logo however, is text used to create a recognizable image. When used together, they create combination marks, a good example of this being The North Face's combination mark. Some of the most important things to remember are that you shouldn't use tints or screens, as they could be invisible in prints, and you shouldn't use too many colors. You want your logo to be simple and recognizeable. I think that learning the difference between logos and symbols will help a lot in the future. Logo and symbol creation is my favorite aspect of graphic design, so I hope to do more of it in the future.
